Manning Park Beauty

10 05 2016

I was up at Manning Park this past weekend with my Scouts. It was the warmest May weekend I’ve ever spent! Some spectacular scenery – as usual.

Reminiscing… The Aurora Borealis

7 04 2013

I was just revisiting some of our Aurora pictures… Funny, but this one keeps sticking with me. It looks like a cloudy night, but every bit of "texture" you see in the sky is created by the Aurora Borealis. The actual night sky is clear (as can be seen from the visible stars) It really felt like it was "storm clouds of Aurora" coming over from the North. You can’t really put it fully into words…

God’s wonder never ceases to amaze!  I can see myself planning a trip again…

2012-11-22 The Lights of Hong Kong

4 12 2012

The city of Hong Kong is an amazing place. Busy. Bustling. Dense. Full of GREAT food. The one thing that takes Hong Kong that extra step up the ladder – the night LIGHTS. There’s nothing like the beauty of Hong Kong’s skyline or the crazy lights of Mong Kok!

2012-11-20 A nice relaxing day

21 11 2012

We didn’t do too much during the day on the 20th, but we did head over to Mong Kok in the evening to have dinner at a friend’s place.  It was my first time being in a regular Hong Kong apartment.  It was lovely, albeit a bit small.  Apparently the thick concrete walls means that you don’t hear your neighbours, which is good, because everyone lives pretty close to one another!

Our friend has two dogs, which made a significant part of the evening fun – trying to photograph people with dogs 😉

Here are some of my successes:

The Pomeranian – Cookie

The Chocolate Lab – Choco

Mrs Dragonspeed with Cookie

Claire with Choco

and then there are the “Fun trying to shoot dogs” shot:

Between the dogs, the good company and the great food, it was a fun evening!

On the way home, the requisite night shots:

A day of contrasts. From the rugged isolation and challenging conditions of the Mountain property of Zheng Sheng Christian School on Lantau Island to the swanky properties of Victoria Peak, overlooking the lights of Central, Wan Chai and Causeway Bay,… I’ll let the photos tell the story….
