Finches, Hummingbirds, Jays! What a great time to have a feeder

4 06 2011

Things are active around the feeders these days and the hummingbirds seem to be more tolerant of me shooting. Here are some shots from yesterday.

What amazing photos. What lens were you using? I’m still experimenting and getting used to my camera, practice makes perfect I suppose. Blogging also pretty new to me and still experimenting with layout etc but might eventually get up to your standards. Absolutely amazing stuff. Juriaan (Cape Town, South Africa)

Hey Juriaan,

Thanks for the comment. The shots were with the 100-400mm and the Canon 7D. As you said, practice makes perfect – as does reading and looking at what you like in other people’s photos and trying to come up with similar results. You’ve got some great subjects where you are (animals/birds/people) so should have some great chances to practice!

Cheers!
