Canada West Judo Tournament – 2009

31 12 2009

Our club, the Burnaby Judo Club hosted the Canada West Invitational Judo Tournament on December 5, 2009.  We had a great range of competitors come from across Canada and the US.  It was a long day but all involved had fun. There was some good judo to be seen.  Everyone agreed that it went really smoothly!

The photos were taken with a Canon 7D and for the most part the 70-200 F/2.8 lens.  Some were taken with the 17-55 F/2.8 lens.  Almost all were taken at ISO 6400

The photo gallery can be seen at my web gallery.

Here are a few highlight shots:

Our Fog Came Back!

28 12 2009

We had a good run of fog back in January and it caused a great stir around the Internets…  Our fog came back but not quite as dramatically this time.

Here’s one from after the sunrise:

The Birth of our Saviour

24 12 2009

All this took place to fulfil what the Lord had said through the prophet: ‘The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel’ – which means, ‘God with us.’

When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.
(Matthew 1:22-25)

THIS is what Christmas is about.  Not gifts, not Santa Claus, not Turkey, Trees or wrapping and bows.  It’s about God’s love for us – mankind.

Merry Christmas!  May the Peace of our Lord shine upon us in all we do.
