Happy 140th Canada!

2 07 2007

On Sunday, July 1st, 2007 Canada turned 140 years old.  When I used to live in Ottawa there were massive street parties that pretty much closed the downtown core.  Here in Vancouver, things are bit more “mellow”.  In fact we went a few years with out any party since some morons ruined one year.

This year, the party was back on.  I didn’t get downtown but from my inlaws’ apartment in Burnaby we could see the high fireworks.  It was a good show – even from 15 km away!

Happy Birthday!

While waiting for the fireworks, we were treated to a beautiful west coast sunset:

All in all it was a beautiful night, and a great evening with relatives (among which I was the only “born in Canada” Canadian ๐Ÿ™‚ ) They were all happy to be celebrating here as well!

I’ll be posting more pictures of the fireworks

on my photoblog (http://www.fotothing.com/dragonspeed) when I have a chance.

Really? The fireworks were off for a few years? Couldn’t remember that. How ignorant I am. :p Celebration of Light makes up the deficiency anyway. ๐Ÿ™‚

I had some fireworks photos too.
